UmiPort FAQ

Product scope, integrations, accounting controls and launch architecture.

What is UmiPort?+
UmiPort is a commerce-to-accounting integration and reconciliation platform. It is designed to connect marketplace financial data to accounting systems while preserving an audit trail of how each event was interpreted and posted.
Is UmiPort an accounting ERP?+
No. UmiPort does not replace TallyPrime, Zoho Books or other accounting systems. It is the integration layer between commerce platforms and the accounting system of record.
Which systems are included in V1?+
The frozen V1 scope is Amazon Seller Central on the commerce side, with TallyPrime and Zoho Books as the first accounting destinations.
What Amazon data is UmiPort designed to handle?+
The V1 financial model covers orders and sales, cancellations, returns, refunds, marketplace and fulfilment fees, taxes, reimbursements, adjustments, reserves, settlements and payouts, subject to the data exposed by the authorized Amazon APIs and reports.
How does TallyPrime connect?+
UmiPort Bridge is a lightweight Windows-side component designed to communicate with local TallyPrime, queue approved entries, return posting confirmations and avoid requiring a public inbound Tally port.
How does Zoho Books connect?+
The production connector is designed to use Zoho OAuth authorization. After authorization, the user selects the organization and approves account mappings before automatic posting is enabled.
Does UmiPort automatically create ledgers?+
UmiPort can suggest mappings and, where supported, offer creation of missing accounts or ledgers. New accounting structure should be user-approved rather than silently created.
What happens if UmiPort cannot classify a fee?+
The transaction should be routed to the Exception Center. A user can review the source, choose the correct mapping and optionally reuse that approved rule for future matching events.
How are duplicate vouchers prevented?+
The synchronization engine is designed to be idempotent. Source identifiers, marketplace context and transaction components are used to recognize events that have already been processed so retries do not create duplicate accounting records.
Can I connect multiple Amazon marketplaces?+
The architecture supports multiple marketplace connections and mapping them to the appropriate company, currency, tax registration, accounting ledgers and bank/clearing accounts.
Can UmiPort import historical data?+
Onboarding is designed to offer supported historical import periods. Exact availability depends on the Amazon APIs and report types that provide each category of data.
Will UmiPort support Shopify, Flipkart, QuickBooks or Xero?+
The architecture is designed for additional connectors, but those are post-V1 roadmap directions. The launch scope remains Amazon, TallyPrime and Zoho Books.
Is the public website the same as the application?+
No. UmiPort.com is the public corporate website. The authenticated SaaS application is planned for app.umiport.com.
